A short history of West KelownaA View of the Lake B&B is uniquely situated between West Kelowna and the city of Kelowna. The district was incorporated on December 6, 2007 as Westside District Municipality, so-named because it was the name of the regional district rural electoral area at the time. On January 30, 2009 the district was renamed West Kelowna. Its nickname is also "Westbank" and even sometimes "Westside". We hope this clears up any confusion regarding these two towns situated on Okanagan Lake.
